Ethan Coombridge 

Ethan Coombridge (b. 1997. Hamilton, NZ) is an art practitioner based in Auckland, New Zealand; Currently undertaking a BFA at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design.

Ethan entertains an experimental practice working across disciplines of sculptural installation, sound production and observation, bad drawings, and small publications. He enjoys developing a methodology revolving around organic improvisation and the allowance of chance factors to emerge in his work. His recent line of inquiry is leading him towards exploring human interaction with the soundscape.

 

Ethan also enjoys researching into, and pondering, art and philosophical theories, favourites include Jean Baudrillard’s Simulacrum, Social Constructivism, Fluxus, Cagean Aesthetics and Situationist International.
