Felixe Laing

Felixe Laing is an Auckland based artist whose work focuses on themes of intimacy, and explores the consuming experience of grief. She graduated with a BFA (Hons) from Elam School of Fine Arts, in 2016, where she developed her practice which combines textile, sculpture, and short poetic text, as well as the employment of labored textile processes such as knitting, sewing, screen printing, natural dyeing, and embroidery.

Recently her work has been exhibited at DEMO, George Fraser Gallery and Meanwhile Gallery. Her work included in the Trust Us Contemporary Art Telethon at Enjoy Public Art Gallery was accepted into the Chartwell Collection housed at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki. She was the 2017 November textile artist in residence at Textílsetur Íslands in Blönduós, Iceland, and is currently in the Artists Alliance Mentorship Programme for 2018 partnered with Kate Newby.
