James Gibson

James Gibson is in his final year of his BFA(Hons) at ELAM Art school. Before starting at ELAM, James was a prominent street artist who has transitioned into presenting work within the white cube. Throughout his studies, James has embarked on a variety of projects ranging from readymade sculpture to abstract painting. During 2018, he has been particularly interested in anomalies occurring in industrial painting and printing processes. Installation is at the core of his practice; however, paintings, print, sculpture, and photography all have a part to play on James’ stage.
His current body of work (in progress) has left the photography format behind, and formed an unlikely partnership with the process of CNC routing and abstract painting. James aims to have the next series ready for exhibit in early October in a group show at George Fraser Gallery.
