Molly Timmins is a painter interested in exploring heritage and the natural environment. Being in a family with generations of gardeners has provoked a fascination with the natural wonders of New Zealand. Her response to this can take the form of painting that prioritises the sensations of experiencing a landscape, and in this instance the work seeks to evoke an internalised sense of place. Paint is chosen as a medium to communicate ideas through a conscious use of colour palette and how this reflects light and dark.
