Ruth McKenna is a singer songwriter from little old Auckland, New Zealand. Ruth began writing music and bad poetry at the age of 14 and finally cracked up the courage to share her writing with friends and family with her debut EP ‘Play’ released in 2013 under the alias Naomi Ruth. Since then, Ruth has continued writing and playing away releasing further EPS including ‘Gotta Lotta Feelings’ and ‘Black Magic.’ This year she has also established her own singing studio, May and June, which aims to build singers’ confidence, technique and repertoire using a grounding in the songs they love. Characterised by bluesy grunt and a whole lot of folk-ery, in her own music Ruth aims to create cheer for your ears and an empathetic party for your heart.
