Shannon-Mae Read is an Auckland based photographer. Her interests lie in documenting often-unoccupied spaces and investigating their relationship with presence, reality, memory, time, as well as the indexical relationship between analogue photography and the world we experience.

Read graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2014, and currently teaches photography at a South Auckland high school.
